What I did when my workstations was reduced to a point: a half-step!
Claremont, North Carolina, March 5, 2008, Richard Becker administrator School System in Linn Osage County, Missouri. When he came on board four years, he soon discovered he had a mess on your hands. There were various solutions Internet security deployed individually across 325 workstations. Led performance, reduce computer time students significantly. One of the first to-do list was to implement a security solution for the entire school system.
"Symantec's products were causing some our workstations to run more slower than slow, "said Becker." They ate a lot of our systems and resources to take money from students limited time and were in the computer labs. It was also very frustrating and costly to maintain, with annual license renewal. "
Osage County Schools is a private school system and, due to financial constraints, the workstations of the students and limited resources. "Because our budget adjusted, I have one person to help me manage 325 machines, and comply with maintenance, "said Becker." Symantec's solution was the cause of my enough patience to wear, what problems the update and the constant flow of help desk calls because of performance issues. "
A few years ago, Becker was reading some posts on technology listserv run by and for technology coordinators in the field, when he found references to AVG Anti-Virus, which indicates that the product was becoming a preferred security product for school systems across the country. The posters were discussing exactly the same mailing list Becker met with problems – security products resource ate well known to all their systems and AVG was like a breath of fresh air – A poster described as "almost invisible" in their jobs compared.
When Becker read that AVG also offers two years of leave, had a lower price than the competition, and still provide the necessary protection and extraction capacity, decided he needed to read more.
"It really sounds as if the product can be the answer to the problems of Osage County Safety information," he said.
Becker searched all parties on the Internet, reading the mailing list of the state, and found the recommendations for education provider AVG, Walling Data Systems. Walls offers a discount 50% for school systems, as well as unlimited free in the U.S. Telephone, email and remote support, things could only dream of finding Symantec Becker at no cost.
"I contacted Walling Data Systems to learn more about AVG, and for more information about purchasing licenses needed to support our neighbors, "said Becker." I use a remote tech support to help me install AVG to all our jobs. They could not have made it easier! In no time, we setup and are protected by AVG, with zero pain on our part. "
Now, three years later, Becker reports Osage County had no problem with the management and maintenance of the AVG Anti-Virus protection. Not only for computers running more efficiently now that they are bogged down by resource-intensive product safety, Becker also enjoy more flexible licensing and management tools to install the central monitor.
"AVG's centralized management tools reports have nice capabilities, "he said." As the information goes to the AVG server, you can easily find the systems that can be suspicious and respond questions before the phone rings at the help desk. Then I can solve the problems in my office without having to walk around the campus, saving time for me to is already very limited. "
Why Becker decides to purchase AVG through Walling Data Systems? The answer was simple:
"The cost of purchasing AVG through Walling Data was lower than other dealers, and the fact that they offer free unlimited U.S. support was a big selling point, "he said." Team Data Wall Systems provides great support, implementation, to the general support through the years of continuous use.
These guys are wonderful to work with. Our renewal next spring, and I bet that neither will be renewed, "he said with a smile.
